I know Bob hates Dancing clown, which I do too, and I still didn't find the video funny. Not that I'm humourless -it was just not my kind of humour. A ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Mar 2015 22:23:56 -0500 From: "Jim L'Hommedieu" Subject: Feb 26,2015: Joni is everywhere Here's a softball question in the February 26, 2015 issue of Rolling Stone: Q: Did any female singer-songwriters from the Seventies inspire you as a teenager? A: I loved Joni Mitchell. I never heard her folk records. But I learned [1976's] Hejira and [1977's] Don Juan's Reckless Daughter by heart when I was 15. She was creating her own universe; she wasn't a guest in a man's world. And it was her chord progressions. I liked music that was modal, more chromatic. There is more room for the singer to improvise. - -- Bjork -- (Yes, the punctuation is straight from page 25. It is the issue with John Belushi as a samurai warrior on the cover.)
