And what a great year for covers it has been. Not one but FIVE tribute CD's, including a couple from The Mutts and Laurie Antonioli. Several 2014 recordings on this one, and of course many more upcoming. A couple songs you don't hear much (including "Love" which is such a pretty song) and a couple of two-fer's. Thanks to Paul & Allan for their help with this one. https://www.yousendit.com/download/UlRTT216Q0N6NEtjZDhUQw 1. Karen Oberlin - Love 2. Veronneau - River 3. Certainly her Disney celebrity allows her some substantial production (note the size of her live on TV orchestra, and the lushness of the arrangement which is probably the same as on her album). I think it is still sad enough (especially in the cinematic strings) but has enough of the holiday sparkle to cut through in the shopping malls (aural cliches like sleigh bells). It will occupy the same playlists as "Same Old Lang Syne." I agree with Betsy that the number of young fans now exposed to this song is substantial (as might be the deposits into the Bank of Joni). That's really been the reason for my lack of opposition to the whole Taylor Swift thing. It is a journey of the many forms of love, love lost and the lack of love, that Joni has written about. Remind ourselves to get back to love. I still haven't heard the fourth disc. And I have that joy to come when I can spend some time alone with it and really appreciate the music, Buon Natale Fabio On Wednesday, December 24, 2014, Fabio Cocchi wrote: > Hello everybody ! I know that her early recounts of her hospitalization with polio mentioned that in throes of despair she would pray to the Christmas tree for recovery. (I don't know if I'm dramatically embellishing that but it's what I recall from older interviews.) If she does include a tree and decorate for the holidays, I wonder if it is something upon which she lavishes special attention and/or dresses it with heirlooms and mementos. Thoughts... Tinsel? Garland? Beads? Crystal drops? Small or large light bulbs? Clear or Frosted? White or colors? Flashing or constant lit? Perhaps Neil Young gifted her a set of Lionel trains for around the base? What does your Joni Christmas tree look like?
