It was sung so tenderly as if we were all a little embarrassed about our singing voice. Initially, I had little hope of being able to enter the small box that screened Fiddle and the Drum but, as a new member of The Hammer museum, they let me in with little trouble and I got front row seating! Malka was in there, circulating the room and being very pleasant and the fans around me were all very sweet and interacting with everyone around. I first saw Joni's feet under the curtain when she was being introduced. I saw those boots that you mentioned and I just knew those little boots were her feet. And how my posture straightened right up when she walked out. I felt the urge to run up to her and tell her everything, as if she were there just to hang out with me, but I calmed myself down and relaxed back into the seat like everyone else. The! ballet was enjoyable to watch. That was the first time I'd heard some of those songs & the visualization of her songs is tremendous.. with moments of humor. My very favorite interpretation was when the dancers were flitting about with the blown up ball shaped like the earth. The carelessness that we employ each day as far as the earth is concerned. That was a beautiful way to express this sadness. I was extremely exhausted by the time it was all over I probably missed my opp to talk with her. She was in a top mood and seemed so approachable. She even paused to say 'what?' whenever anyone yelled something from the audience. But I was tired way way down after driving here all day. Hoping there are more events like this. I am still so grateful for the chance to see and hear her in the here and now. I wish Joni would take on a young artist singer songwriter and help shape their voice. I wonder if she's ever considered it. Just want to say thank you to this group for letting me know about this event! Lots and lots of Joni, Shari PS I want to remark! Joni's humility was incredible to observe. I watched her ego switch from, hey it's just us humans here talking, to 'oh. right. you adore me!' She seemed genuinely surprised when she would recall that she was a celebrity and very very loved. > On Nov 8, 2014, at 10:15, "Laura O." wrote: > > Leslie & Shari, > > How exciting you both were able to attend!!
