(Pinterest is also annoying in that it will not let you scroll down unless you sign in/join them.) Also, yahoo keeps putting my emails into my spam folder. Sheesh. ________________________________ From: Catherine McKay To: "Bob.Muller@Fluor.com" ; "kbhla@fastmail.fm" Cc: "joni@smoe.org" Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2014 8:17 AM Subject: Re: Coffee with Joni She also did an ad for the Gap, or maybe it was one of those posters they have of famous people wearing Gap clothes. One time he said "we don't like Joni Mitchell, she's a wh- blank blank blank"B (I wasn't even listening to Coyote at the time). I think the house that David Geffen owned that Joni stayed at previously was owned by Julie Andrews so at least there's some connection there. I used to have this great interview with Joni by Pete Fornatale in NY where she talks about Crosby and addiction and says that she has a hard time giving up coffee and cigarettes, but anything else fell by the wayside. Its from '85 when she was promoting Dog Eat Dog. I thought it might be in the libray but its not and I really want to try and find it. Any NY people probably know who Pete Fornatale is. For a long time it was the only thing I had with Joni's speaking voice on- its a very nice interview. Referring to Crosby, she says "There but for Fortune" which of course is by Phil Ochs. I was thinking about Phil Ochs recently and googling him it seems he recorded also at A&M at the same time as Joni (and the Carpenters) in the late 60's, so they must have been friends. Its so sad how he turned out. I was wishing I had gotten that Amichaka (Green peace) cd when it came out but didn't get around to it. Now it seems very rare and out of print, with nothing on youtube from it. So if you got it enjoy it.
