A special "Down to You" which is not on the record "This Flight Tonight" (try THAT arrangement without a drummer!) and "Both Sides Now" which is heavily improvised and we found a few new tributaries to follow. We talk about the project, about Joni and a bit more. If you follow me on Facebook: my daughter got married, there's been a CD Release concert (wonderful, well-attended) school started (I'm the Chair of a huge vocal program) and I've been, believe it or not, working on new material. Whew. Still checking in on all of you here. Keep writing - you are my refuge and companion during these busy days. Hope that link above works. If not, let me know!! And then he proceeded to try to sing the line in a heartfelt way. Do you think Joni will ever be on Letterman again, to sort of fix the "feud" she started with him not talking to her enough ? Remember how long it took for Cher to appear on his show ? GREETINGS FROM THE TRIPLE M Down a gravel road, where the barb wire meets the sky. MARY M. It was so fun to listen to this morning behind a "window of my hotel room" while I am advancing my tour of Europe later this month. I did not know you use to live in Austria. Did you get to meet and play with Marian Russell while you were there. She is my hero as she was so instrumental in opening the "tunings" door for me and showing me the ropes whereas I was just fumbling in the dark before that. Have a great gig! Hope it says SOLD OUT! on the marquee when you get there.. I Still can't believe Joni is singing this song Out in the Country. Hi Jeff, Don't think I've met you, but I enjoy what you say on this list. I hear Joni more clearly with each listen of Paul Williams singing Out In the Country, and I've probably listened over 20 times now and already had my morning dose. I like Paul singing it better than Three Dog Night. He lacks nothing in the way of being an incredible singer of this song in my opinion. Right before the harmony starts I can feel Paul's anticipation of it in his burst of enthusiasm as he sings. It really is awesome!
