Meanwhile, enjoy the day. Jeff On Monday, September 29, 2014 10:51 AM, Susan E. McNamara wrote: Thanks for mentioning Shine, Jeff. That made me think of If as a great mother and son dance song, although because it was written by Rudyard Kipling, that may be tossed, too!! I guess ultimately I like the Circle Game for a mother son dance. Thinking of good wedding songs by Joni ("everything comes and goes") Mitchell isn't easy. We are talking about a wedding, not a death march or a prison sentence, and it is not to be implied that a wedding is in any way similar to the other two. Since My Best to You is nixed for not being by Joni, I recommend Underneath the Streetlight (UTS), (trying to avoid "JRCTS" (Joni-related Carpel Tunnel Syndrome) to be edited somewhat and used as the actual wedding vows. Like the judge says "Do you swear to take this person to be your wife?" Your Honor, I swear to the blinking planes above I Do, I I swear on the disco spark dark I do, I swear on the bebop boys chasing the black bird, I do", etc. Then the song Shine (S) could be used for the mother son dance. It is a beautiful positve song about being happy despite all the crappy things in the world, like cell phones, lawyers, distracted drivers that don't know where they're going, doctors pills giving you brand new ills, sex selling everything, etc. And it give more attention to S, which is so underappreciated. Here in NE Ohio on a gorgeous early autumn day, I will take a long bike ride and am going to take pictures and send them to Joni and see if she feels like painting them. Jeff, still listening to Out in the Country. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Sep 2014 22:54:11 -0400 From: Steve Dulson Subject: Joni celebrates her birthday in LA.... http://hammer.ucla.edu/programs-events/2014/11/love-has-many-faces-the-art-of-joni-mitchell/ *************************************************** Steve Dulson Costa Mesa CA FAR-West (Folk Alliance Region - West) tinkersown@ca.rr.com www.far-west.org ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2014 #327 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here:mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe
