If its not the Jungle Line its Dog Eat Dog or Refuge of the Roads or Urge for Going. I was reading in my little Catholic book about Bob Dylan saying happiness is a yuppie term, its better to be blessed and knowing you are living the life you are supposed to be living. I still can't believe that so many people don't know who Joni Mitchell is. Everybody knows who Dylan is and the Beatles and Cher and so on but relatively few know who Joni is. Somebody I was talking to recently mentioned Camille Paglia and I said well I think theres an interview with her and Joni Mitchell, just go on to Joni Mitchell.com. And by the way, did you know she was the muse of Led Zeppelin, inspiring the song Going to California? Oh really, I thought she wrote that song Send in the Clowns for Judy Collins. No, she wrote Both Sides Now for Judy Collins. Actually she didn't write it for Judy Collins, she wrote it for herself. Didn't Joni reinterpret the Bible with songs like Passion Play and The Sire of Sorrow? I'm sorry if I'm not a fan of Last Chance Lost, I find it super annoying. I like Shiny Toys. It is a great venue and they have an upcoming "Back To The Garden" which is the music of Joni, Carol King and Laura Nyro. Current broadway stars perform and, having seen it twice, I highly recommend it. In fact, I think Dog eat Dog might be her best album > > > On Sunday, September 21, 2014 3:13 AM, JMDL Digest wrote: > > > > > JMDL Digest Sunday, September 21 2014 Volume 2014 : Number 1221 > > > > ========== > > TOPICS and authors in this Digest: > -------- > Re: JMDL Digest V2014 #1220 [David Gizara ] > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Date: Sat, 20 Sep 2014 19:27:00 -0700 > From: David Gizara > Subject: Re: JMDL Digest V2014 #1220 > > Yep, Lisas Cold Blue Steel is pretty amazing. > David Gizara > Thursday Night Jazz > > >> On Sep 20, 2014, at 5:06 PM, JMDL Digest wrote: >> >> >> JMDL Digest Saturday, September 20 2014 Volume 2014 : Number 1220 >> >> >> >> ========== >> >> TOPICS and authors in this Digest: ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2014 #314 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here:mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe
