Of course, the guests have always come on to plug something - a movie, a book, a new TV show or whatever. But now it all seems scripted, especially if the guest is a comedian. The host is the straight man, feeding the guest the set ups for the punch lines. There seems to be very little real conversation anymore. The musical guest comes on last, on the Graham Norton Show out of Britain, too, although the band or at least lead singer often joins the guests for a short chat before the end. But the conversations are between the host and all the guests at the same time instead of a lineup of one at a time, and they have me rolling on the floor laughing. Joni would have a good time on this show! Kate (of the North) b?b 1b.b?b 1b.b?b 1b.
