We arrive on Tuesday May 13th late in the evening and plan to spend several days in LA. It sounds brilliant! For the past few years I have been awfully anxious about travelling, but now my dear Mother and our lovely old cat have departed this life, I am finding that I am feeling increasingly free to enjoy this part of my life. I think all the worry about them being okay and safe whenever I was away has been lifted. I am looking forward to this holiday so very much and I can't wait to meet you. To be able to see this exhibition while we are there is just amazing! I feel very, very blessed Anita On 8 Mar 2014, at 00:56, kbhla@fastmail.fm wrote: > I posted this to the Facebook pages yesterday and wanted to let everyone > here know, too. I hate Spring Bob! We don't have one in FL, and I've already sadly set all our clocks forward for the shock tomorrow. :) As for covers, this one is a killer........except for one. The last song on the CD from Andre Vida performing ACOY is like listening to Frank Zappa (who I liked) at his very worse. It's nice when people do their own spin to Joni tunes, but this was HORRIBLE! Just as the last cover, I just LOVED Lauren Fox's Joni tunes. I saw that the tribute to Joni and Leonard was just last month. Did anyone on the list see this? If it was posted, it must have been when I was on vacation. She is fantastic. I loved Christine Sullivan (again). Her cover of "River" is so unique. Such a nice and slow jazzy style to her performance. As for Adam and Darice's cover of "River," it was kinda strange, but I liked it. I think they used a lot of electronic mixes in the song to produce this song, kind of like if Joni was singing with a voice harmonizer or vocatuners.....or whatever Cher sings with these days. I also liked Cassia Eller's "Cherokee Louise." I thought it was a guy singing, until I read up on this deceased Brazilian. She was known as the "South American Melissa Etheridge". She had such a deep husky voice, and would be so outlandish in her concerts exposing her boobs.......oh I guess that happens with a lot of singers :) Anyway, thanks as always Bob! I'm off to set my own clock forward. Happy weekend Joni friends. xoxo Jimmy In a message dated 3/8/2014 9:18:44 AM Eastern Standard Time, scjoniguy@yahoo.com writes: > So, the good news is that we are getting closer to spring here in the US. > The bad news is that we lose an hour of weekend.
