I like the idea of him trying to find Joni's song but finding another song instead. I wonder what song it was. I'm still torn about [The] Eagles and their artistic contributions/creations. With the exception of "Desperado", I generally don't think any of their songs even approach Joni's quality or artistry but if I'm in the right mood, I can enjoy them. Frequent Eagles songwriting collaborator JD Souther put out a jazz album in 2008 called If the World Was You. I don't know if the music would be considered jazz in the strictest sense of the word, but he used a jazz ensemble. It was his first release in almost 25 years after dropping out of the music scene. That was a pleasant surprise.
