Joni Very cool, I know you will enjoy hearing it again. As for Hinton, it's one thing to be opinionated (most of us are) but he is flat-out WRONG on many counts. As Richard said, a hack. But, having said that, there are 3 good things I can say about it. 1. I got mine as a gift from my son who wrote a really nice note in it; 2. There's an appendix listing some covers - one of the impetuses for my wacky project; 3. There's an appendix listing some of the vinyl bootleg albums (Spring Songs, Lights Out In Georgia, etc) that I also was fascinated in at the time. I had this show and now I have it again. I was in to Joni back then but didnt see my first concert till May of that year so I missed out on her then but not in 79and 83. I saw her twice in 83- once at Mann Music Centerin PA and then the Merriweather in Maryland. What a treat! Thanks Brian! Still reading my Both Sides Now book and at the Wild Things Run Fast. Looking forward to reading a better bio on her then the Hinton. He is too opinionated for me! I have had several iMacs and got burned once because I didn't have the extended warrantee. The iMac is a bird of a different color compared to most Apple products, and I won't have one without an extended warrantee. They are nice because they have more capacity than a MacBook and don't take up the space and have all the bothersome wires of other desktops. I use a MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone but don't have extended warrantees on these and haven't had a problem. The Apple Store fairly recently upgraded my MacBook Pro for free. One of my sons dropped his iPhone in the toilet and the Apple Store here replaced it for free because the level of damage was low enough. I bet they refurbished and sold it. I use both Mac and PC. PCs are like all wheel drive vehicles and can go anywhere but they can be slow and get even slower as they age. Macs are like Vipers and will get you there fast and smoothly but can't go off road very easily. Both are fantastic to have. My work everyday today in my two jobs involves using these incredible tools that weren't available when I was in college. I believe the first generation of Airs had flimsy casings that flexed because they were so thin but that has been fixed. Ive used Macs for 25 years with almost no problems. If you take yours places and it is at risk for being dropped or liquids spilled Id extend the warranty but if it mostly lives at home and you treat it carefully I wouldnt. I bought the five year warranty on our two MacBook pros and it was never needed. Ipads and iPhones may be another thing entirely as they get carried around and dropped so easily. > > Dave > > >> On Jan 13, 2014, at 4:15 PM, Debra Pease wrote: >> >> So to bother everyone, but, I have a MacBook Air that will soon be out of warranty. It will be a year old n February. Should I spend the $250.00 for an extended warranty for 2 more years which also means tech support for the two years as well or save my money so if the hard drive does crash I have funds to help fix it? I always figure that If I get the warranty somewhere is cyberspace they know and nothing goes wrong but no warranty then suddenly everything goes haywire. >> >> Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. >> >> Catgirl > > ------------------------------ > > End of JMDL Digest V2014 #35 > **************************** > > ------- > To post messages to the list,sendtojoni@smoe.org. > Unsubscribe by clicking here: > mailto:joni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe > ------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Jan 2014 16:29:23 -0500 From: Debra Pease Subject: Spectrum!
