It is a beautiful festive version of a wonderful song. Happy Holidays to all you Joni people. Joe. I had ordered Neil Young's "Live at the Cellar Door" and can't wait for the time travel of music to bring back what we once heard. Stephen Stills released an album "Just Roll Tape" - of early-CSN songs which certainly highlight the evolution of those songs. Sony has just spun out a limited edition of early 1962-63 Dylan tapes. She does guard her past very closely. I wonder if others will carry on that in the future. As for me, I noted in Neil Young's "Waging Heavy Peace" that he has an unreleased tape of a tipsy Joni Mitchell singing "Raised on Robbery" which he described as being a very sexy version - and that she won't allow the release. If Neil subscribes to this, I would say to him that I would pay to listen to that tape. It will be just between us. And perhaps a few JMDLers. Best wishes for 2014 to all. Neil at his best, singing so beautifully, interspersed with some hip in between tune patter that reveals his unique personality and humor. Hearing this CD is like a window into that time when it all started with that group of people, Joni, Neil, Graham - - the Laural Canyon bunch. The young fresh talent of these people is so deep and special and Neil's influence along with Joni's is revealed, once again, through this release. A live recording that captures so much. I highly recommend it. It's nearly perfect and one wonders why it took so long to be made public. But it has and we are fortunate to have another beautiful document of one of our finest innovators. I'm sure Joni has many unreleased recordings. Most musicians do. I've got 5 or 6 albums worth of unreleased projects. At the time, I didn't think they were any good and then, when I go back and listen I hear music that was okay and worth sharing. With the ease it takes to put the music up on iTunes, it's great now how we can document our musical lives publicly - you don't need a record company or manager. Of course, few have the impact of Joni and Neil but, if you are a musician I urge you to revisit your earlier material as there might be some gems worth sharing. Happy Holidays Joni fans. It's a pleasure to read your thoughts, get the scoop on so many interesting things and see how inspired you all are about Joni and beyond.
