That makes sense. She is a former backup singer for Bette Midler, who covered this song in the bath houses. Bette must have gotten the song from Joni's live performance rather than Ladies of the Canyon, judging by the lyrics. Anyone know the story? As much as I love UFG, I couldn't cotton too much to David Cantor's version. Margriet Sjoerdsma's "Help Me" was another thing, however - that entire CD of hers was wonderful. I still have it and listen to it. I'm guessing that a bikini dance party did NOT break out in Ithaca in November. Not the first time a non-English language Joni tribute album has come out but certainly the first Polish-language one, and probably the first time a cover debuted in a non-English version (Bad Dreams). I have always loved that European artists as a general rule get and appreciate Joni's entire body of work.
