What a nice way to start the day today. In bed with my head propped up and having a 30 min Joni break. I do feel like I have seen this video before. Is it not possible that this got out to some radio stations etc? I use to be on the mailing list of most record companies and receive promotional stuff all the time. At the time I was producing the tv show Louisiana Jukebox and I got some promo copies of Hits and Misses thru there as well as the radio connection. I have some jewel box copies as well as some paper cover copies. I do believe there was a VHS video of this in my package. I have a couple of boxes of "Joni shit" and I will go thru it and see if I can find this old package. Anyway thanks Robbie for the reminder and the Joni Treat for today. Well it was like beat the clock all day today to try and get the birthday card in fed ex before 5:30. I actually had a hard time getting the paperwork done but the fed ex guy waited for me to fill everything out so that was nice. I put the birthday card and a 3-page flyer talking about Jonifest, Tributes and the web page in a blue fabric notebook. The cover of the notebook had a 5 in by 5 in cutout in it where you could put a picture, so I cut out the picture of Joni I put on the cover of the card and inserted it in the cutout. It looked pretty good. The card itself came out to 18 pages, with 100 signatures. I put headers on each page with a picture of Joni from different eras and lyrics to her songs. Then at the end of the card I had a three-page flyer describing the recent fests and tributes that the JMDL was involved with. I also gave a little update on the JM.com website. I saw this as kind of an annual report of what was happening with the community. Here are the links to the PDFs of the card and the fllyer. I apologize for any information you may have put in the tribute section of the survey that didn't make it into the flyer. The card itself came out so huge that I ran out of time (and brain matter, frankly). https://www.hightail.com/download/OGhlYnU5OW5qY3BsQXNUQw https://www.hightail.com/download/OGhlYnV6VEhTSUJnRXNUQw I also decided at the last minute to send Joni a gift. I've been thinking about sending this item to her for a long time, but I loved it so much I hated to part with it. It is a wooden music box I found on ebay that plays Both Sides Now. It has a carved yellow finch on the cover of the box which is pretty nice. I made a little video of it a couple of years ago. You can see it in the link below. http://cloudheights.blogspot.com/2011/01/my-favorite-christmas-present.html Thanks again to everyone who participated in this. I also have to say that I snagged some pictures from Jonifests without checking with everyone first, so if you see your picture in the flyer and you don't like it, tough noogies. :-) Now I'm going to go sleep for a week (oh shoot never mind I have to go to work tomorrow.) Hi Jack, Thanks so much. I really think it was a group effort. If I had thought about it sooner we could have gotten even more names on the card, but 100 isn't too shabby!!! I'm sure Joni will be touched by this. Thanks for all your hard work in putting this together. Hey Les, is there anyway this can be posted on the website?
