Amen, Simon. And we all pretty much got f*cked over again by being given misinformation about Columbus and all those explorers. Not only was history class boring, it was also completely wrong. I follow The Oatmeal on Facebook and his comics are frequently very irreverant, kind of gross but funny as hell. Every so often, he does one that is serious, and this is one: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/columbus_day I will admit I had never heard of Bartolome de las Casa either, so can't offer any opinion on that. For us in Canada, it's Thanksgiving weekend and we don't have anything to honour Columbus (which turns out to be a good thing.) On Saturday, October 12, 2013 11:23:24 AM, Debra Pease wrote: Wow. Well last week I posted The Dawntreader which some kind soul had newly put up on utube and was fairly excited with the quality, etc... So now I find two more clips which are apparently from a new DVD for the entire show in two parts, the first one broadcast date 1967-12-24 with Night In the City, The Gift of the Magi and The Circle Game: http://youtu.be/yfz9nhM79og ...and the second on 1967-12-31 with The Dawntreader and The Way It Is. http://youtu.be/W8OGxXgNYzo I don't know why but her performance of BSN which was part of one of the programs, and, I suspect, a bunch more, was not included. Also, this is not yet listed in the JM.com library.
