McNamara" Subject: RE: Book or bio I did enjoy reading Girls Like Us. There were sections in the Joni bio that were very sad that I hadn't heard about before. I recently attended a Cabaret show at our local community theatre of three marvelous singers performing a tribute to Joni, Carole King and Laura Nyro that was absolutely amazing (their back up band was local musicians, all women, two veterans from our local Joni Tribute night). I couldn't help thinking that girls like us would have been better if the third woman was Laura Nyro instead of Carly Simon. But then there are others who totally disagree. And it's sorta cool that we can disagree in these ways. My advice is to try them all out and see what you like (except that Hinton book - I think we all agree that is rubbish).
