Thanks for your input!! Laurie Antonioli Hi Laurie! I like this DVD the best: Joni Mitchell - Woman of Heart and Mind: A Life Story (2003) People have said that Joni is writing memoirs so I'm waiting for that, but this DVD is the closest thing to an autobiography so far to my knowledge. I have this book: Joni Mitchell: Shadows and Light Paperback by Karen O'Brien I haven't been able to plow through it. I don't like her style of writing. The song is in the guitar transcriptions section of JoniMitchell.com but it is listed as author unknown, arranged by Joni Mitchell. Does anybody have any information about the provenance of this song? In a 1968 Broadside Magazine interview Joni says of this song:

I bought myself a ukulele and I plunked my way through most of the summer. Then I went off to art college and started playing in a club there with Peter Albling, who was the headliner. He and I became the house acts; he's Mycroft of the Times Square Two now. For both of us it was our first professional gig in Calgary, Alberta......

< I wrote one song in Calgary. I don't remember what it was about. I wrote it for Peter. I don't remember how it went and I am sure he doesn't either. The next one I wrote was Day After Day. I wrote it going out to the Mariposa Folk Festival. That was in August, 1964. http://jonimitchell.com/library/video.cfm?id=362 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Sep 2013 11:23:50 -0400 From: simon@icu.com Subject: PS: 2nd Fret Sets - WMMR-fm Radio Retrospective Jonathan Edward Lowe inquired ... > Subject: Second Fret Sets > > Re. this discussion about rare tracks, I (like most I imagine) have the tracks > from the first CD of this collection, but not those from the second CD- does > anyone have that? > > Thanks, Jonathan Donald R. Listening to Urge for Going, Chelsea Morning and The Dawntreader...actually almost anything on STAS, I can believe that's what we hear. There's a mellow almost classical (nylon) sound. To my ears, I think she went all steel at some point, perhaps before some of Clouds was recorded. "Both Sides Now" as on Clouds sounds a bit different.
