When we were up in Toronto, Patti introduced me to Lisa Sornberger before the TimesTalk. That book is beautiful! Patti and Richard do the JDML proud!!! I would love to someday officially cover my own version of Impossible Dreamer (with my #9 dream interlude!!) I don't think song circle covers count. :) Susan Tierney McNamara email: sem8@cornell.edu From: Bob.Muller@fluor.com [mailto:Bob.Muller@fluor.com] Sent: Tuesday, July 16, 2013 3:39 PM To: Susan E. Double Sidebar: I'm about halfway through the "Gathered Light" book and am truly enjoying it. Read Patti's piece last night and read Richard's earlier. It contains 3 or 4 tracks from teh album and the interview. A tale: Reprise launched a contest in their website with that Cd as the prize, and I was one of the lucky ones to get it. Most of you, who live all over the world, but mostly near the "Joni Mitchell's influence areas", wont be able to imagine my surprise and happiness when the mail man delivered the thick, cushioned envelope to me here in Buenos Aires. It was like winning an Oscar or so! That was back in 1998, I still treasure the CD, the mail that won it for me, the letter from Reprise and even the envelope... One my most rare JM items. Expected: the compilation VHS tapes that were put together and distributed by Sherry G. and Barbearuh (screen name, can't remember Barbara's last name now), who lived in the Washington DC area, around 1997/98. I think I sent those to Em in Florida, with a side trip to Mack in Texas. Unexpected: the cassette tape of Joni's "A Day In The Garden" performances, sent by someone whose name I shall not reveal because it was recorded surreptitiously at the concert, in 1998. I think I still have that tape somewhere (although I'd have to borrow my house mate's Walkman to hear it).
