Carmel. Well, Peggy had a baby out of wedlock that she gave up for adoption and she made herself a career at about the same time and age in a traditionally male-dominated field. Other than those two things, though, I do not see other similarities. (episode 6.10 - "A tale of two cities"). in this episode Don and Roger are in LA, and they go to a Hollywood celebs/hippies party in Beverly Hills (I think), and when they enter the house there's someone who looks like Joni sitting next to someone who looks like Jimi Hendrix behind them. it was just for a second or two and I can't be sure it supposed to be them, could be just a couple of hippies, but that what I thought, I'm interested to know if anyone else noticed that." I saw the episode, and had the same reaction. Certainly about the Hendrix figure. I have not seen it a second time, to confirm my initial Joni reaction, but I suspect it may have been intentional. Shades of "Peoples' Parties". BTW, I happened to be playing one of those Midnight Special DVD's last night. One of the spots was Donna Summer doing "Last Dance". It may just be me, but I think there is a strong facial resemblance between Donna and Joni. Especially the mouth and eyes. And, I think Joni's look during the Shadows and Light Tour and in the 80's with her perm may have reflected her intentionally (or subconsciously) channeling her inner Donna. Bobsart PS - one of the other tracks was Fleetwood Mac doing Rhiannon. Stevie Nicks was pretty smokey in those mid-70's days, and Lindsay Buckingham's attire was right out of the Mad Men party episode. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Jun 2013 22:52:50 -0700 From: "Cassy" Subject: The National CBC My sister wrote to me and told me that tomorrow night on the CBC news program bThe Nationalb (shown at 10pm in each time zone) there is going to be a special interview with Joni Mitchell. I havenbt been keeping up with the JMDL too much so maybe you all already know about it but I had to post anyway just in case. I have my DVR set to record the show.
