I found a couple of items on the web that don't seem to be in the jmdl library or, if they are, I couldn't find them. I haven't read the first one yet. (Saving the best for later, when my eyes are awake.) The first is from a blog called "Play that weird minor chord," which is a good omen in itself. The article was published on March 9, 2013 and is called "The songs of Joni Mitchell". The author calls him/herself G.H.Bone, who says about him/herself, "I live in London. G.H. Bone is a pseudonym." G.H.Bone writes about music, and I'm pretty sure we are going to like this one: http://yuslisten2.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/the-songs-of-joni-mitchell/ The second is a bit of fluff by Ayun Halliday who, at the bottom, says she "wishes she could find the tape of the tape of the Joni Mitchell-James Taylor Unconcert that a friendbs friend taped off of WXRT back in the day." The article, Joni Mitchell: Singer, Songwriter, Artist, Smoking Grandma, is on openculture.com, December 18, 2012 concerning Joni's smoking habit and a bit of a regurgitation of things we've seen before, with a couple of youtube videos. http://www.openculture.com/2012/12/joni_mitchell_singer_songwriter_artist_smo king_grandma.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Jun 2013 05:17:30 -0700 (PDT) From: Catherine McKay Subject: that one without a subject header Sorry about that. >________________________________ > From: Catherine McKay >To: Jonilist >Sent: Saturday, June 1, 2013 8:01:38 AM >Subject: > > >Hello, People of the Joan. > >I found a couple of items on the web that don't >seem to be in the jmdl library or, if they are, I couldn't find them. She performed a few years in a row at Hugh's Room, which is a wonderful, small venue and, therefore, quite intimate. (http://hughsroom.com/). Unfortunately the tickets were out of my reach at the time, since I think they were about $100, which is very expensive by Hugh's Room standards, not so much by others, and would have been totally worth it if I had had the money. Most performers at Hugh's Room hang around after for a meet-and-greet, so you have the chance to at least say hello and get something signed if you're so inclined. >________________________________ > From: "Bob.Muller@Fluor.com" >To: Catherine McKay >Cc: Jonilist >Sent: Thursday, May 30, 2013 9:16:03 AM >Subject: Re: Judy Collins article, Montreal Gazette, sjc > > >Catherine - thanks for this article, I just got to it and learned a lot. >She came to town a couple years back in a small intimate local venue and I >missed it. We will be in Vancouver ion June 14and 15. Travel to Montreal on 16th and be there thru the 20th. We play the 19th so I will miss that show. I AM off on the 18th. Anyone driving in from Montreal? I looked into train service and it appears feasible for me to make this show on the 18th. I am looking into tickets etc. now. OH JOY! Someone should certainly see this as an angle. It would be great to hear from the engineers and I'd love to hear more about what went on during the recording of DED. I wondered also what happened to that 1903 piano? Is there any clue about that, Dave?
