For those of you who have read Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow, the fourth part of the book begins with the epigram "What?", attributed to Richard Nixon. I read somewhere recently that the galleys were changed in the middle of Watergate to add this quote, perhaps from the tapes that were released. The early galleys, and in fact the advance reviewer copies, had a quote from Joni Mitchell's Cactus Tree (the live version she does on Miles of Aisles still sends chills down my spine.) Anyway, can anyone shed further light on what the quote was or anything else on Joni's brush with post-modernist literature? ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 6 Apr 2013 23:47:00 -0700 From: shadows and light Subject: Re: Pre-Dinner for Dave & Robin's show in San Diego lindsay, you are such a sweetheart to have out this together. i know it was wonderful! lesli miss all of you On Fri, Apr 5, 2013 at 11:50 AM, Lindsay Moon wrote: > I wanted to put this here in addition to the JMDL on Facebook. I'm so glad it's found a home here. 24 years was long enough. All this time I would put it on here at home occasionally for my wife and I to watch. Or a couple friends. It was our own private interview. But now it's out there. By the way, there are also B52's, Dick Dale, and House of Freaks interviews on the same "Quintcovina" Channel on Youtube.
