Too many things working against me for that weekend. I am however looking into doing something in October and will let you know as soon as I can get something together. The next PazFest will be totally different from the last one as I will be using a rental property in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans to house many of my guests and to have community meals and performances at this location. It has a main house with 2 bedrooms and then 4 cottages (2 Two-Bedroom, and 2 One-Bedroom Studio units). All of the units have kitchens so we can get really creative with the group meals. The place also has a private room that is big enough for us to have our performances in and private gatherings that would be JMDL only. I will still host an ALL STAR tribute show at the Howlin' Wolf as a fundraiser for the Ruth Paz Hospital as we continue to struggle to make ends meet and keep the doors open to the poor in Honduras. That said, I would like to gauge who would be interested in doing this in October. I will still have a Hotel option in the FQ for around $99 per night. The cottages will rent for $300 per night for the two-bedrooms and $150 for the one bedroom studio units. There is $700 charge for the rest of the house and courtyard and performance space. I was thinking of converting either the living room or the dining room into a bedroom for 2-4 more people on a budget kinda thing but have not firmed up those details as yet. If I do that then the balance of what is left from the $700 would be divided amongst all of the attendees equally. I have a pdf of the property if you would like to see it. Contact me privately if you are interested. I will create a yahoo group or facebook page for the people that are interested as to not tie up the bandwidth here. Please let me know your thoughts and ideas and who is interested in helping to organize it. Looking forward to a big old Joni Party! I am posting this on the jmdl as well as the facebook page. In 3 parts. This is a really rare interview Joni did for a cable access show called Quintessential Covina. I hope you enjoy it. Les, I think he was going to contact you about putting it on JM.com.
