(Lurk, lurk, lurk) I sometimes stick my neck out and say something. I love reading JMDL posts. But I'm socially anxious. Reticent. Don't like the spotlight. Would be a GREAT deal for someone. Sansui G-7700 (monstahreceiver), Axiom speakers and the LAB 500 TT. Amazing how Sansui was once considered a very high end manufacturer. My brother brought one of those back with him after a tour in Vietnam, and it was even better than anything Fisher or Pioneer was selling at the time. High end enough to rival Marantz. They must have sold the brand name to Emerson or Audiovox or someone similarly low rent, because their 80s and 90s stuff was just awful. With regard to how best to preserve vinyl, I developed a practice of recording the FIRST play of vinyl to a cassette. I had myself convinced that I could hear the damage caused by miniscule tracking error in the inner grooves on even the second play. I have transferred those cassettes to CD which are mostly absent of clicks and pops and on CD sound the equal of anything bought commercially. My White Album CD is awesome.CC ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Dec 2012 00:23:25 -0600 From: Arkay Adkisson Subject: Re: JMDL: how many subscribers, really? I am a hardcore lurker. For example, I have "Mud SlideSlim" and "Slow Train Coming" only on vinyl. I find this amusing since my "Mud Slide Slim" is probably the only item I own that could get me arrested for possession, there is so much um, dust in the spine.
