Yes, as already mentioned, from a few articles ( Italian press ) it's clear that Joni will not be performing here in Milan. They say that "some promoters" have already denied the chance. There is no official report from her agency still it's quite unlikely she will perform. Sorry... As I suspected, too good to be true. Joni observed of the mainstream record industry: "They're not looking for talent. They're looking for a look and a willingness to cooperate..." "As long as they look good, they can pitch-correct them now, they can interior-decorate their music. The artists don't have to play anything, - they can cheat, buy songs and put their name on them, so they can build the illusions that the are creative." "Now, this is all calculated music. It's calculated for sales, it's sonically calculated, it's rudely calculated." She said more, but, this is the crux. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Apr 2012 10:26:24 -0400 From: Marianne Rizzo Subject: auto-tune, Taylor Swift and all that (not) jazz Joni, you're something else here very enlightening THANK you for this post (allison Crow music staff?) Let me try to explain what happened. Some companies have been bidding for a contract to organize the Festival and the winning company won of course because of the artists they presented, although they did not have any kind of agreement with the company. This is so typical Italian. I'm so sad and ashamed.
