The archives show, called Rewind, profiled about a dozen past winners of Canada's Juno Awards, similar to the American Grammys. They played excerpts of interviews and a song from each artist early in their careers - so you can hear the beginning sucesses of Paul Anka, Cohen, Lightfoot, Neil Young, Anne Murray and of course, Joni. She goes on about Stevie Wonder and Dylan. In fact, her Dylan schpeel from 1974 is excactly the same schpeel she gives in the film JM: AWOHAM three decades later. I guess she carries these sound bites in her head, to be pulled out at interviews and such. It's a pity she lashed out at Dylan a couple of years ago, accusing him of being an artistic fraud. Anyway, you can here it all here http://www.cbc.ca/rewind/ or just go to 25:10 in the show to hear the Joni bits. Other artists on tape are early Bryan Adams, the hilarious KD Lang, Alanis and Celine. Thinking of y'all out there in the Jonisphere... These foks look like they were having a blast, travelling around by rail. These were probably the first sultry black entertainment reviews Joni ever saw. I can well imagine it making a big impression on a teenager looking for a groove and a good time !
