I'd love a full concert DVD of the live at Victoria Theatre in London which was filmed in 1974 I think? It was MoA period concert. Glamour gowns and curled hair loveliness. I think it was an Old Grey Whistle Test special. It took a while for Hejira to work its magic on me but I've come around to love it (almost as much as Joni's earlier work). I also recommend Laura Nyro; I have all of her albums (on vinyl, wherever applicable) but if you find you DO like her music, I urge you to check out her "Live At The Bottom Line" (listen on Wolfgang's Vault) as well as "Spread Your Wings And Fly" (live from the Fillmore East in 1971). I think her live performances are even better than her studio releases. I also feel her last album "Walk The Dog & Light the Light" is as good as any of her earlier work. Based on the feedback, I will need to give Hejira another listen; it has been decades since I heard it. The jazz put me off then, but perhaps I have matured enough to appreciate it now. Thanks to Laura for the Laura Nyro recommendation. Anything recommended by a friend of Joni's must certainly be seriously considered! :) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Mar 2012 13:54:50 +0000 From: Susan Tierney McNamara Subject: Back To The Garden, March 22, 45th Street Theatre, NYC My Ithaca Joni Tribute friend, Sue Terwilliger, is playing in NYC at this event.
