I recall several people on this list commenting that it was among their favorite works of Joni's. I undoubtedly will give it another shot before I dismiss it as not my thing. I do however, remember buying Mingus and trying so hard to understand that jazz fusion genre of music and appreciate it for what it was but for whatever reason - I never warmed up to it. I always assumed that the Paprika Plains were in Canada? Or do they stretch out into the Northern US? I seem to recall this was the homeland of numerous Indian tribes which is sort of the theme to this song?? |------------> | From: | |------------> >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Lori Fye | >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |------------> | To: | |------------> >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Stewart.Simon@sunlife.com | >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |------------> | Cc: | |------------> >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |joni@smoe.org | >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |------------> | Date: | |------------> >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |01/18/2012 03:45 PM | >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |------------> | Subject: | |------------> >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Re: My Joni Progression | >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| > I also own DJRD, Shadows, Mingus and WTRF and purchased them > shortly after they were released. Which is why you need to come up to visit me and Rob (Evian) on the frozen Paprika Plains ... you'll truly understand DJRD then ... and the rest will fall into place. :-) Lori, about 8 hours "down the road" from Rob (which ain't nuthin' in travel time up here), in Tioga, ND - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This e-mail message (including attachments, if any) is intended for the use of the individual or entity to which it is addressed and may contain information that is privileged, proprietary , confidential and exempt from disclosure.
