I've heard of Holly Near, but didn't know anything about her. Now I've listened to her cover. The piano is very nice (not as pretty as on River), but I feel like I could sing better than those two. Maybe someday I will be more open-minded and hear what Bob hears. What Fonda says about the conversations... well, I wish I could have been there - fly on the wall. Lucky Jane et al. Joni's tan and the look of general well-being may well belie her condition. She looks FAB! I wish she would return my phone calls.Wx ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2011 20:18:46 +0000 From: Susan Tierney McNamara Subject: RE: New Library item: Not your average monk "... Demetrakas's new documentary Crazy Wisdom: The Life and Times of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, screening today at the Vancouver International Film Festival." Do you think the documentarian took the line from "A Strange Boy" when she titled the film? I say yes! Too bad Joni couldn't provide an interview. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-joni@smoe.org [mailto:owner-joni@smoe.org] On Behalf Of TheStaff@JoniMitchell.com Sent: Wednesday, October 12, 2011 3:20 PM To: joni@smoe.org Subject: New Library item: Not your average monk Title: Not your average monk Publication: Vancouver Sun Date: 2011.10.12 http://jonimitchell.com/library/view.cfm?id=2434 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2011 19:48:26 -0600 (MDT) From: TheStaff@JoniMitchell.com Subject: New Library item: 20 Top Pop Stars - Where are they NOW? Catherine, You failed to mention that she got four (4) photos in this rag PLUS a cover shot (small....but it's there)!! Two of the photos top middle of pages 34 & 35. She's prominently displayed. Yahoo! http://jonimitchell.com/library/view.cfm?id=2435 Honestly, just a few weeks ago I was thinking that her Morgellons disease is just the kind of thing a tabloid would pick up on and write about. I even considered subscribing to The National Enquirer and Examiner just in case so I wouldn't miss an article. I never heard of The Globe...sounds European. But then I usually only buy these supermarket tabloids to enter a sweepstakes, and that's rarely. So, I do appreciate the heads-up. Ran out to buy The Globe. First store didn't have it. I'm glad I was persistent at the second store I went to because I had to walk by 6 registers, and all the other tabloids, before I found a register with The Globe! I pretty much gave up bu then, finally, a clean crisp copy. So I bought two! Thanks Catherine! Usually the province of Kardashians and whatever popstar is up there and ready for a fall. What would they know of Joni Mitchell? I'm surprised to know they've ever even HEARD of her. And never mind Sam the Sham - what about those Pharoahs? I caught the tour in Berkeley and I think it was Jackson's first big tour. Joni always blows me away, but that was the first time I ever heard of Jackson. So thanks again for taking me back. Anything I can do for you, let me know. peace~~~gene - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim L'Hommedieu" To: Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2011 8:01 PM Subject: Free: Joni playing a solo acoustic show > Attention first time collectors! > > I'm burning a solo acoustic show from March 02, 1972 in > Philadelphia, PA.
