The digest had no posts dated Oct. 1st but rather, had the quiz post from Les dated January 2011 and posts from others dated Sept. 13-15, 24th and 28th. It could be that someone finally took the quiz and copied the original post from Les, but I don't know what would explain the other various, earlier dated posts. Oh well, maybe pranking gremlins! But seeing that Kakki just got a digest from last January, it may be that Les's post was in there, and some people did not realise they were reading an old digest. Since then, Les has sent a message saying there is a problem with smoe as a host. But I guess there is not much point me explaining this again, because by the time people on digest read my explanation, they will already have caught up with Les's explanation too...! I remember the game from the first go round. I thought about trying it again but didn't have the mental energy for it last night after work. Thanks for clearing up at least one of the mysteries that have appeared on the list of late Mark in Seattle - -----Original Message----- From: Les Irvin Sent: Saturday, October 01, 2011 9:28 AM To: Joni List Cc: Mark Subject: Re: New JMDL membership requirement >Well, I guess my name has already been crossed off since I didn't get Les's email to begin with. Actually, that email was originally sent to the list months ago, maybe even more than a year ago. But someone just replied and started the ball rolling again. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 01 Oct 2011 15:09:16 -0400 From: "Jim L'Hommedieu" Subject: Joni solo acoustic show offering, US and Canada How would you like a solo acoustic show from March 02, 1972 in Philadelphia, PA? It's Joni in a solo-acoustic setting playing piano, guitar and dulcimer. Here are further details: http://jonimitchell.com/chronology/detail.cfm?id=1312 This concert was after "Blue" and before "For The Roses" was released. It's kinda funny now, to hear no applause when she begins the songs from "For The Roses". No one recognized those songs yet. It's on 2 CDs and includes Jackson Browne's solo-acoustic opening set. I'm willing to burn this 2 CD-R set for anyone in the US or Canada who mails in the blanks. If you are in the US, you should send return postage. If you are in Canada, I'll cover the postage. No money will change hands. Sorry, but I've promised not to rip this show to mp3s. For details, write to me off list. Thanks goes out to simon for this fine show. There are some good stories like the one about Carey.
