I'm not concerned with gender when someone is singing, whether they're gay or straight or a woman singing as a man, or a man as a woman. A good singer is like a good actor and can take on the persona of the person they're supposed to be in the song or play. And, just to get silly, if you tried to turn the Coyote into a woman, you'd probably need to make her a Cougar! And I add my Welcome Back to the voices welcoming Coyote Rick back into the fold. It sounds such a wonderful party - not just the concert but everything else each day that seems to have gone along with it. I really enjoyed reading your detailed observations about the musicianship. I must say I have felt frustrated to read that nobody including you) seems to have thought much of Aimee Mann's performances. To think that Robin was sitting in the audience and, given the chance, would have blown those songs right out of the water in her own inimitable style. Straight from her heart, no need for lyric sheets. Man, I feel frustrated about that. I was also miffed that your startling and original arrangement of Jungle Line might have been partly ripped off. The injustices of the music biz! However,I know you know the way that it is. I suppose there is just the slight chance that it was co-incidence. I so hope Joni gets to hear 'Safaris To The Heart'. You, Robin and the Mutts deserve it. You have served Joni's music with such love and dedication.Nobody does it better. Joni, girl, spin that disc!
