Bashing in veins for peace Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire Fall into Lady Release RR ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Aug 2011 09:41:44 +0100 From: Anita G Subject: Re: a day in the garden video up on youtube I went to bed last night clutching my ipod intending to just take a peek at this concernt and, of course, watched the whole thing - including spotting your JMDL banner, Sue! Thanks for sending this, William. I thought it was utterly brilliant to see Joni's guitar technique. Watching her right hand moving so effortlessly, with such great rhythm and complexity. I think this concert may have been just before I found my way to JMDL because I am fairly certain that, had I known about it, I would have moved Heaven and Earth to have got over the Atlantic and seen Joni play one more time. Seeing this concert reminds me why I stay here on JMDL. Brian Blade is totally brilliant on Sex Kills, where the whole band is really cooking and the Magdalene Laundries, Black Crow, Crazy Cries of Love etc............The only odd thing is that it looks like there's a removal firm working behind Joni when the camera zooms in tight and head on. Anyway, it doesn't detract from the power of Joni's presence and the interpretation of her music both by Joni herself and this great bunch of musicians. Best thing I've seen for ages. Just Wonderful.
