Just wondering what everyone considers the "original" version of this song? Normally, a studio version will come out, possibly followed by a live version. In that case the original version is pretty obvious. In this case, the live MOA version came out and later was followed up by the studio version on DJRD. So is the MOA or the DJRD version the "original". IMO, the MOA version would be the original. Jack In a message dated 4/19/2011 5:12:18 P.M. They were shipped on the 17th and I received them all on the 18th. Amazing! I haven't had time to check any of them out as I spent the night dealing with a broken water pipe. Fortunately the leak resulted in a major mess, but no major damage. Anyway, I will try and check some of these out tonight and get back with my thoughts. Based on Mark's review, I'm pretty excited to listen to these. While the tone of the review wasn't overly enthusiastic, the descriptions sure sounded promising (Joni's vocals ... really soar during Refuge of the Roads, percussion is noticeably more in-the-mix throughout the album, Jaco's bass seems a little cleaner, Joni's guitar parts are also clearer, Black Crow seems a real standout). Based on these descriptions, I can't wait to hear these releases. Looking forward to "dry" night of listening to some of my favorite music. I've left my wife to contend with whatever happens housewise while I'm in China through July so I do have a bit of trepidation about something happening, but at the same time I know we have GREAT neighbors who will help as needed. As for Jericho, I think it would be tough to argue that the 1977 studio version would be considered the "original". She released it on MOA, then performed it on all of her 1976 shows. By the time she released the studio version on DJRD it was sort of the 'final' version. I will also add that the DJRD version is my favorite.
