If any of you have the bootleg recording of the 1969-07-19 Newport Concert, however, and if it's like mine, the sound quality is excellent-except for "The Circle Game." In any event, while you can pay to download this in either .mp3 or .flac (lossless), you may listen for free: http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/joni-mitchell/concerts/newport-folk-festival-j uly-19-1969.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Apr 2011 10:18:27 -0400 From: Gerald Notaro Subject: Re: Joni content--"The Circle Game" Newport 1969-07-19 Funny you should mention this, Richard. The interviewer had mentioned the number of singer/songwriters from Canada. k.d. said "yes Joni Mitchell kind of set the bar." I loved her cover of "River," and I'm looking forward to hearing "Sing it Loud." Happy Weekend! I'm posting some cover songs that he has done recently. As I am sure I have written before..his youtube video of Rush's Subdivisions gained Jacob an invitation to perform said song at the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame, what a wonderful moment for Jacob. Anyway, I know that Jacob has long admired Joni. He mentioned her at his concert this past Sunday. (phenomenal concert btw) And I believe that Jacob could do a kick@ss rendition..just not sure which to suggest. He's one of the best singer/songwriter/guitarist/artist/wonderful human being I know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4vd9OVLO7Q Subdivisions - Rush http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qphRwdr6MlY Come Talk To Me - Peter Gabriel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEK6Di3EMXs Bend and Break - Keane personally, I would love for Jacob to be a part of our Joni Mitchell covers project. He certainly has the chops to pull it off. So what say ye? What Joni song do you think he could do? He is able to do anything imho. Not only is he a wonderful musician, he gives so much of his life to social justice for social change. In real ways. Start thinking about what tune you'd like to record. I prefer full res files (AIFF or WAV) which can be mastered but if mp3 is all you can send, it will get included but probaby not mastered. Contact me offlist for further info. Dave On Apr 15, 2011, at 10:05 AM, Mags wrote: > personally, I would love for Jacob to be a part of our Joni Mitchell covers project.
