It is incredibly well done. I was very surprised at how emotional I got watching it. It isn't nostalgia, but at the realization of the purity of the times and music that has passed us. But I think you misunderstood me. I don't mean Christine did that cover herself, but she chose it for this programme, playing clips of Joni's own versions. At least I think she did choose NRH among several other ones... You would make me doubt everything! And I can't go and check it now, have to run and all that. Stil, you can now hear it for yourself, so do enjoy! I have written to the list about his book and PBS documentary on The Freedom Riders, and some of you wrote to me that you loved the book. Ray could not be at the awards luncheon because he was taping a one hour show with Oprah on her series. It is on jis book, the documentary (which almost won an Academy Award nomination) and the new feature film being produced. The segment will air in May Jerry ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Apr 2011 14:54:22 -0400 From: "Richard Flynn" Subject: Re: Troubadours N J C I saw this on PBS. And what an absolutely wonderful programme it is! I can't wait to hear Dave Blckburn's take on it. And so good, Paul, that you have now made it available outside the UK. I remember listening to the full program at the time and have had the podcast on my mp3 player ever since. I'm pretty sure someone on this list tipped me off about it, as usual. As far as I can remember the podcast was pretty much the whole program except that the music tracks are cut short which is a little frustrating but it's still makes a good listen.
