When it's such a multi-layered (not to say overproduced) sound on 'Chalkmark', it's hard to imagine how she could have done it in concert... THanks! Michel & all, It actually sounds A LOT like "The Windfall (Everything For Nothing)" live. But don't take MY word for it, download and listen for yourself. Here's the entire San Remo gig, only (7) tracks as follows: San Remo Song Festival San Remo, Italy; October 22, 1988 1. Intro 2. Lakota 3. Hejira 4. Number One 5. Night Ride Home 6. Award Presentation 7. Passion Play (In Progress) More information and some photos from the show here: http://jonimitchell.com/chronology/detail.cfm?id=1620 (thanks Simon!) I was startled, and I can't believe I've never heard it before. Must be the combination of running my iPod through my stereo while being enclosed in my car as I drove to Sacramento (through Davis ... and, btw, MG says hi). Twenty-five years later, I still love DED.
