One is in Whistler, BC on Jan 25: http://www.artswhistler.com/resources/visual-art-award-of-excellence/events-a-programs/event-calendar/view/1330/date/2011-01-25 Allayouse on the west coast can see that one The other is in Toronto at Hugh's Room on March 5: http://hughsroom.com For those of us in the east-ish. This got me wondering whether the show would also run elsewhere, so I googled it and whaddya know? They're presenting the show in various locations in BC, Alberta and Ontario. Check this out. You can listen to some of the performances here. This may have been mentioned by someone else earlier, but if so, I wasn't paying attention: http://www.myspace.com/jonitribute - ----- Original Message ---- > From: "Bob.Muller@Fluor.com" > To: joni@smoe.org > Sent: Tue, January 4, 2011 8:23:00 AM > Subject: Torontonians - mark your calendars for this too > > The last one was posted to the web and (for the most part) was really > great! > > Performance Series at Millennium Place: A Tribute to Joni Mitchell b > January 25 > In 2008, singer/songwriter Mia Sheard launched whatbs become the annual > Joni Mitchell night at Torontobs Hughbs Room. I'd say that for you, Sue, the experience of going to the concert at Hugh's Room would be incredible. I know that other jmdlers down that way would be into it. Argh for plans...if only I could do it. Anyway, it is a beautiful club and you will love being there for the environment, not to mention listening to Lori Cullen channel Joni Mitchell in her own special way. Bob has Lori Cullen on some of his covers projects, so I'm sure he can and will chime in that this is true ;-) Perhaps a little off list chatter and plans can be made/altered? love, Mags, missing the big smoke and mostly the people within. - --- On Wed, 1/5/11, Susan Tierney McNamara wrote: > This is frustrating because it would > have been nice to make the concert and Kilauren's art show, > but the Toronto concert isn't until March 5! I'm always impressed when an artist picks a deep track OR a new track (referring to 2GR as "new" when it's 20 years old but you know what I mean). In this case Lori did both and did a nice job to boot.
