Ha ha, Muller, you nut! I love the video. And I'm one of those ingrates that downloads your covers but usually doesn't comment. My crappy excuse is that I often download them right away but it may take weeks before I listen to them. I'm looking forward to this one though because I understand the Charlie Dee stuff is great, and there are TWO versions of Dry Cleaner on it. How often does that happen? ________________________________ From: Bob Muller To: JMDL Sent: Sat, October 2, 2010 11:29:49 AM Subject: Joni Covers, Volume 129 - FALLing into Joni Covers! I've got FTR (acronym? moi?) and Court & Spark from years ago and I would LOVE to get my grimy paws on DJRD (another effin' acronym) and, hmm, Derg eat Derg. I'm just sayin'. Never mind the fact that most of them have crappy guitar transcriptions (no alt tunings except on FTR, which rocks, and ONE song on Crt+Sprk, which is OK), but I like the artwork. - ----- Original Message ---- > From: T Peckham > To: JMDL ; Les Irvin > Sent: Sat, October 2, 2010 4:55:53 PM > Subject: Songbook! > > I got my pristine copy of "Hissing" on Thursday--lightning fast shipping! > Thanks once again for finding these and offering them for such an incredibly > low price. I'm happy to be a pianny player, so I don't know from the guitar transcriptions. But *For the Roses* is, for me, the ultimate Joni songbook--I love most of the arrangements, and the photos by Norman Seeff and Joel Bernstein are beautiful. But the real prize is all the artwork by Joni that accompanies most of the tunes, some of it very enlightening. My copy is completely unbound, but otherwise in decent shape--but I'd love to have one in new or near-new condition. My *Court & Spark* is in slightly better condition. I'm trying to remember (since I don't have my albums here so I could check)--didn't the songbook come with a big detachable poster, or was that the album? I can't even recall whether it was a photo of Joni or perhaps a reproduction of her watercolor for the album cover?? I know I had it up on various walls for a while, and I hope I still have it somewhere. Anyone?
