She was nominated for best actress for one of my favorite movies The Subject Was Roses, which featured Judy Collins' recording of the Albatross. That recording was on Wildflowers which also had Both Sides Now and Michael from Mountains. A little known fact about Patricia was she turned down the role of Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate. Jerry ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Aug 2010 18:31:18 -0500 From: Michael Paz Subject: The latest from Pazfest Central Hi Boys and Girls Prep continues for the party of the year in New Orleans on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 2-6, 2010. While I am really disappointed that (part time New Orleans resident) Rickie Havens has to depart on the opening day of Pazfest for Norway. I will survive! I have signed on Christine Ohlman a singer in the Saturday Night Live Band and Queen of the Bee Hive hairdoos, who I had dinner with in Ct. last weekend while on tour. Some really ambitious songs have been selected by some Pazfest vets that I am really excited about. The Astor Crown Plaza has graciously extended my cut off date for the deal on rooms there. I am a few rooms short to get a free suite to party in on French Quarter night which is leaning towards Saturday night with Sunday night being the dinner/jam/party at my home. If you have not made your plans yet please contact me if you have any questions etc. There are a couple people sitting on the fence (ouch!) that are looking for roommates and travel companions so talk it up. We have quite a few newbies coming which I am excited about. One of them is Jim in Texas who will be helping with airport transfers and has stepped up to the plate in being your typical JMDL wonderful guy. The hotel seems to think that everyone thinks it is not safe to come to New Orleans cause of the oil spill etc. That is the farthest thing from the truth. And the city needs visitors. The economy here sucks therefore there are lots of deals here to be had for your coupon queens. I am also still have a few open slots for anyone interested in coming to play. There are quite a few New Orleans musicians willing to be session players for people who need help. That list includes: George Porter, Jr. (The Meters), Ricky Sebastian (John Scofield), Guitarist Dirk Billie, drummer Kevin Aucoin, and many more. Come on and sign up and if you are coming but have not booked the hotel yet please call and set up your rooms cause I will release the rooms we are holding soon so that I am not liable to pay for them. Hope to see more people sign up soon.
