Anyway, I like her re-interpretation of Cotton Avenus that she does on this tour. Like a lot of her songs, she and the boys cranked up the rock mode a bit. Plus, ya gotta love it when she does a DJRD song live. I've always loved "Cotton Avenue," as, back when DJRD was released, I was living near the tiny town of Fortuna, ND and was always longing to go to the "big" city of Regina, SK. This is a great arrangement. Lori Santa Rosa, CA ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Jun 2010 12:34:42 -0700 From: Lori Fye Subject: Re: 1983 version of Cotton Avenue And how cool ... "Cotton Avenue" segues into "Edith and the Kingpin," one of my all time favorite JM songs. Now, I really, really love the original, and part of what I love is how sinuous and sexy it is. This version just goes thuda thuda thuda to me. - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Deb Messling -^..^- dlmessling@rcn.com http://www.sensibleshoes.vox.com - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2010 #178 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe
