I really hope you will get some good web designers to take up this invitation. I will certainly ask around to see if I can find anyone who could do this, and I urge all other JMDLers to think about this: could you do this? - and if not, do you know any web designer whom you could ask to get involved? Surely, we should be able to come up with a solution among us! Keeping my fingers crossed, Lieve in London PS Mark, I wish you all the best, hoping you will get through your tough time as soon as possible. I also instinctively agree with your comments about the new Australian PM. Without knowing the details like you do, I share your dislike for political games and knives-in-the-back tactics, even if it's supposed to be "part of the game". I cannot rejoice, even when the result is a first female PM, when it has been achieved at the expense of hurting and humiliating another decent person. - --- Date: Fri, 25 Jun 2010 21:09:40 +1000 From: Mark-Leon Thorne Subject: Re: Our Website Hello everyone. I hope you're all enjoying the Sumer in the north and coping with the Winter in the south. I haven't written much lately because I am going through quite a tough time at the moment and apologise to those who I was writing to off list. I have been in talks with Les Irvin about the JMDL website. I was concerned about added cost but Les assures me that it doesn't cost any more to keep JMDL as well as www.jonimitchell.com Thank you to everyone who made comment on the subject and all of your suggestions have been taken on board by Les. Now comes the tricky part. Although the site will not cost Les any money, it is a huge investment in time. Mainly for the design rather than upkeep. Therefore, Les has proposed a similar contest as he did with www.jonimitchell.com which resulted in a beautiful, easily navigable site. The pay off is a link on every page for the designer which has, apparently lead to quite a bit of business for him. Thanks to those who have clicked on his links. My hobby is graphic design and I have had a little bit of business out of it but, although I have some technical savvy, I have not yet begun on learning web design yet. I have told Les that I am willing to lend my services in any way I am able to but, my expertise in web design is limited so, I ask that anyone who would like to submit a proposal for the new JMDL website to send their suggestions directly to Les.
