Blue, I have to say that I'm getting it up to here with the 1001 "new" ways to listen/view a classic...Whether you're watching/listening to Blue, Casablanca or whatever on non-compressed, HD, Blue-Ray, blah blah...it's still Blue, Casablanca or whatever.....another great marketing fraud America style....buy the same product on as many formats as possible because one of them MIGHT be 1000th of a % better. Joni is in the room with you. This of course assumes you have a better-than-average stereo and the ears to go with it. Otherwise, feel free to listen to it on MP3. At some point, it's "all in the mind" as George Harrison's cartoon in Yellow Submarine pointed out. RR From: "Russell Bowden" > While I'm sure it's nice to listen to a nice cleaner (?) Just play it on something low tech and let it be in the background while doing something else. Now that I think about it, my best absorption of music, with few exceptions, have been this way. So that's another way to go. :) Em - --- On Fri, 6/18/10, Randy Remote wrote: From: Randy Remote Subject: Re: Tech stuff re: remastered Blue To: "Joni Mitchell Discussion" Date: Friday, June 18, 2010, 4:55 PM I am one of those who is constantly looking for that holy grail of perfect sound, whatever that is (and for me, high resolution digital is the best I've heard), but I must admit, I have never enjoyed an album more than when I first got the cassette of DJRD (not chrome, either) and listened to it over and over on an old, beat-up $20 Radio Shack cassette recorder. I'm pretty much working the top 20 Joni songs most covered by others with some getting multiple covers with mostly jazz performers. I hope you all enjoy it. Again thanks to Bob for all his help.
