It's pretty easy to find on You Tube under James Taylor videos. I thought I would share this as someone shared the more recent Seal video last week. Some of you may not know this one. I liked it a lot. Everyone, In case there is any misunderstanding the point of this is to raise money in contributions for JoniMitchell.com. The compilation is a "premium" hopefully to sweeten the deal for contributors (including BTW those who contributed since last fall but after we floated this plan). It also gives JMDL members a chance to let fellow members hear what they do musically. In other words we are not selling the compilation with proceeds going to Les. I suppose it ends up with the same result, but we don't want the contributions to be contingent on how good the compilation turns out to be. It's just a bit of fun, and since I am equipped to master music I'm offering to make it sound as good as possible. So please click on http://jonimitchell.com/donate.cfm asap to make a contribution to the website. Les will give me a list of 2010 contributors and those will receive the compilation download. Music submissions should be to me at my email address - and btw I am not acting as a judge whether something is worthy but only as the compiler- all contributions gratefully accepted. We got to the theater early, a great old place that most short sited cities have torn down and replaced with barns. Jonatha Brooke was there last week and next week the Orlando Gay Men's Chorus Pride concert. While Paz and the sound men set up, we sat in the audience. When the piano levels were set, Paz noodled some Joni music which was great (that was the Joni content for you NJC freaks.) The band members couldn't have been nicer. Paz took us to a sleazy straight dive for cocktails. After we left that place, Frank and I headed to The Parliament House for some real bar fun (shut up Stewart) then returned to the theater to go out for some tasty Thai food with Paz. We returned to hear the concert. These guys are the real deal folks. Such joyful music you have never heard. So if the PHJB and Paz come to your town, make it a point to hook up with our best JMDL bud and treat yourself to some fine music. "Theres this really cool stated vulnerability in a song like Fake that Ive never really heard on male songwriters records. You can hear it on a lot of Joni Mitchells records. Its just a very cool or rough-edged or experienced kind of vulnerability. Is this something that youre conscious of? Are you consciously trying to portray particular characters or situations? Or are you just writing what comes out naturally? Oh, I am so flattered beyond belief to be even thought of in the same world as Joni Mitchell. I dont think about trying to come out with a certain vulnerability or anything else. That song Fake was one when we were just flying somewhere and it just came through. You know its got something that sparks it, but then what I strive for is, the best songs have that universal quality, so people can take them into their own lives and interpret them for themselves, whatever their experience is. Its a big, grand wish to be able to do that." http://www.americansongwriter.com/2010/05/drinks-with-pegi-young/ Oh, for (laughing and) crying out loud, Muller. Nobody's harder on me than you.
