I can abbreviate!) Hi Bob. It took me a while but, I love Prince now that I understand what he's about. I love that he pays homage to Joni too. I have the four disc album, Crystal Ball but the only song that looks like the one you're talking about is on disc 4 called, Circle of Amour. I listened to that song but I can't hear any connection to Joni. What is the Joni reference or do I have the wrong song? Mark in Sydney NP 3rd I - Prince PS I also have a 40 disc collection of outtakes and unrecorded material called, The Work but there is no song called, Jump Your Rump. I'd love to know which song Prince wrote for Joni. I'm sure it must be among this stuff but with a different name. If anyone knows, please let me know. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Apr 2010 04:37:59 -0700 (PDT) From: Catherine McKay Subject: Re: HoSL (Look! I never could get into Prince for some reason, although I've enjoyed some of his hits like "1999" and so on. Ham-fisted. I can abbreviate!) No, that's the right song, Mark - it's about a group of girls who are growing up and going through rites of passage, and there is a reference to "the circle game" towards the end. It's a bit of an oblique Joni reference but given Prince's reverence for Joni there's no doubt that he's using Joni's song title to say that they are growing up.
