I was in the first row, and actually got to stand in the press area to take pictures for the first three songs. I love Joni with this band. Greg Leisz was amazing. The whole day had an other worldly feel for me. At one point, in between songs, during her set a V of wild geese flew over the stage and you could hear the crowd ahhh as if the moment was sacred. Wow I know that sounds over the top but I guess you had to be there. One of my favorite memories. The other acts were great that day too, with a finale by Pete Townsend of See Me Feel Me with a gospel choir. Chills. :-) Take care, Sue ___________________ /___________________\ ||-------------------|| || Sue McNamara || || sem8@cornell.edu || ||___________________|| || O etch-a-sketch O || \___________________/ "It's all a dream she has awake." - Joni Mitchell - ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Nov 2009 19:49:08 -0800 (PST) From: Bryan Subject: Re: New video in Library: Black Crow Subject: New video in Library: Black Crow A new video has been added to the Library at JoniMitchell.com: Black Crow - Bethel, NY 1998 View it here: http://jonimitchell.com/library/video.cfm?id=163 Awesome! It's great to hear another of your live shows. Do you have anything in the works from the era of "The Hissing Of Summer Lawns" and "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter"? That's my favorite period. Will the Carnegie Hall show ever make it to release? The "Shine" CD made a big impression on our local radio station which specializes in singer-songwriters. They played "One Week Last Summer" and "This Place" (back to back) every weekday for about a month. Is it my imagination or was the bear your muse? In the liner notes it almost sounds like he delivered inspiration to your doorstep. Thanks for all you do, Jim L'Hommedieu Dayton, Ohio ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Nov 2009 19:09:38 +0000 From: joe farrell Subject: re:joni tribute cd Has anybody bought, and actually received, the Joni Tribute cd from Bandhouse Gigs? It is featured on Joni Mitchell.com. I placed an order, and paid for it, on 31 October since then nothing. They have not replied to my emails, 4 to date, and no sign of the cd. Does anybody know anything about this organisation? There are no contact details on their website, always a bad sign, and i only have their email address because i paid via PayPal. I am beginning to fear the worst. In the meantime, here's a part of the email I got from him yesterday: "it was a real labor of love for the 60 musicians involved so its great to hear you appreciated it- it was far and away the most challenging show we've done- hey, by the way we have a just completed live video of Free Man in Paris from the show that you can link here if you want. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c0eIJHOzmQ I will pass it along to Les as well. We hope to have more soon. Take care & thanks again for following up Ronnie" I'll give him your email address so you can correspond directly.
