No deep deep heart of Dixie here, but I'm gonna be lookin' for a Cactus Tree Motel somewhere in NV. Arriving in the Bay Area around Tues. Refuge of the Road.....and how! Love, Russ It's open-faced!!! _________________________________________________________________ Windows 7: Unclutter your desktop. http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9690331&ocid=PID24727::T:WLMTAGL:ON:WL:en-US: WWL_WIN_evergreen:112009 ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Nov 2009 11:33:39 -0500 From: "Jim L'Hommedieu" Subject: Amchitka, a live show from 1970 on CD, 100% JC Wow! I thought we'd get the BBC show before anything else from this era. This is so cool. Now I have to buy a copy for the local singer-songwriter radio station. Jim np: this pristine version of "Cactus Tree". But I couldn't wait for it to get here in the mail, so I also bought the digital download. I don't usually like to buy lossy-compressed music, but they've even done that right: 320 kpbs mp3s. What a great listen. I love BYT/Boney Maroney. And Carey/Tambourine Man, of course. JT is at his best here, too. And I love it that he ends with "You Can Close Your Eyes." I'm one of the 50 Phil Ochs fans, so I can't be wrong about this: he is in great voice here. There are only a handful of his shows compared to Joni's out there, and a number of them are from later years when he was very unstable. > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-joni@smoe.org [mailto:owner-joni@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Jim > L'Hommedieu > Sent: Friday, November 13, 2009 11:34 AM > To: joni@smoe.org > Subject: Amchitka, a live show from 1970 on CD, 100% JC > > Wow! But if the download is good enough for you then I am going for it. Jerry On Fri, Nov 13, 2009 at 2:34 PM, Richard Flynn wrote: > I pre-ordered the CD.
