She sounds awesome. If you visit her website, it lists a few Canadian music stores that carry her debut cd. Coltrane turns 1 week today and I've realized since he's arrived I have a completely different perspective on things. Birth and death and birth and death and birth and death...I thought I had it all figured out but I'm realizing I don't at all. We have certainly been experiencing such an incredible feeling of joy and wonder and then I find out about something like this and it totally tears me up. I realize I don't know clouds at all...but I have an even greater respect for Joni's music and I imagine songs will take on entirely different meanings. It speaks even more to how much depth her songs do have. Victor, overwhelmed by sadness and joy PS. Thanks Mags and everyone who's called or sent messages...we're feeling the love! Funny thing -- seeing this article about dopamine as a motivator was just what I needed to finally eeek out of lurkdom! Really -- I've been high on this for about two days now just thinking about the writing process that went on here. The only reference to Joni in the entire article is a mention of having baker's yeast in the pantry in a fit of "Ladies of the Canyon" wistfulness. No further explanation. No mention of Joni specifically, no mention of Annie baking those cakes and breads and thus needing the yeast. Joni is apparently such a part of our social fabric that no further explanation was deemed necessary by the reporter or editor. I am wondering though, if anyone but we listers, and those who love us, really got it. At any rate, I just love seeing things like this! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Oct 2009 19:50:23 -0500 From: Stephen_Epstein@hugoboss.com Subject: Re: Joni and Dopamine i was thinking the very same, that Joni has permeated the social conscious and her effect in some ways, is everyday and commonplace. very cool!
