Thanks for that. I never considered they would all get together for some of the songs but, S&L is perfect for that. I wouldn't even be sure their voices would be harmonic together. Also good to see they are not just doing the well known songs. Can't wait. See you there. I spotted an ad on Facebook that had Joni's face on it (once, not twice), so I clicked on it. This is a new (I think!) venue in Toronto (or an existing one that has changed its name again so as to be rendered unrecognizable. Never mind. I just checked into it and it has been there since 2006) that is having what looks like a marathon of concerts over the weekend, including a Joni songbook one. Here it is for any that's in the neighbourhood. Maybe it has already been mentioned and I wasn't paying attention. Does anyone know anything about Kanye West sampling Joni? - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Concert Information Joni Mitchell Songbook Joni Mitchell is one of the most influential, multi-faceted artists of this generation and her music remains as timeless and relevant today as when she began her career over 40 years ago. Throughout the years, Joni has received multiple awards and accolades and her songs have been covered and sampled by artists of all genres, from Counting Crows, Kanye West and Diana Krall, to Prince, Janet Jackson, James Taylor and Annie Lennox. Songs like Both Sides Now, The Circle Game and Big Yellow Taxi are indelibly etched into our cultural fabric, while her landmark explorations and interpretations of jazz have been lauded as nothing short of revolutionary. Joni Mitchell Songbook features Heather Bambrick, Suba Sankaran, David Sereda, Elizabeth Sheppard and Denzal Sinclaire. Musical Direction: Suba Sankaran.
