I'm sure she did the programme a number of years ago. She hasn't done Desert Island Discs as far as I know, but you may be thinking of "My Top 12" which was broadcast in 1983 on Radio 1. She chose tracks by Piaf, Dylan, herself(!), Little Richard, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, Miles Davis, Peter Gabriel and Stravinsky, among others. I have a tape of it courtesy of the wonderful JMDL TapeTree. I must listen to it some time. Mind you, I expect if she were asked again now she might well have a completely different choice. (NO JONI Content at all) Too fecking long! Hello Kids wOw! Life can be so damn amazing sometimes. While things on the fringe are falling apart at the seams and the outer circles (NEVER the inner circle) , there is still some magic in the world. The PHJB has just put out a new cartoon to go with the release of a remix we did with Philadelphia DJ (and all around nice guy) King Britt. As you can see by the subject it is a remix of St James Infirmary (one of my mums favorite tunes and one she always requested that I play and I never did cause I was a numb-nut and didn't totally GET IT back then, but I digress. Anyways this is one where one of my faves Clint Maedgen stands on his head and blows one out the park. The animation is classic and a true gem. So proud to be with these cats! Please check out the cartoon at the links below. Also we just launched a new website if you care to check us out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDYGIeZDMyg http://vimeo.com/7101070 Had Mr Charlie Gabriel over with the band and family this past Sunday for a celebration of his wedding to Ms. Marsha Walden (a true gem) as well as to be witnesses to the ass whooping the Saints put on the Giants. We had an amazing seafood gumbo made by my wife and I as a duo (first time in history and no one got hurt) as well as a Paella. A grand time was had by all! Anyways the next day, YESTERDAY, we did a session at the Hall with the amazing Tom Waits. We were gonna due one song with him but it ended up being a 3 song session with the master doing to Mardi Gras songs (including Ooo Na Neh) with the fellas ++++ a Sea Shantie called Shenendoah or Oh Shenendoah (me thinks a certain Mr. Dylan may have done this one altho he did not write it) (also recorded by a shitload of people including me pal Arlo Guthrie, Richard Thompson,KEITH JARRET????, Roger McGuinn, Bruce Springsteen, and hold on to your sunday hats girls, JUDY FECKING GARLAND. Who knew??? Ok maybe the librarian (HI JERRY). Anyways, the aforementioned Mr. Waits killed all 3 songs. The album is a project coming out in Feb and will be to raise funds for our KIDS jazz program. I have talked about other friends that have worked with us on this project like; Richie Havens, Pete Seeger, Ani DiFranco, The Blind Boys, Paolo Nutini, Buddy MIller, Mac Rebennak (yea the Dr.), Jim James (My Morning Jacket),....... I think there are 18 tracks so far and I am dizzy! Still can't believe who blessed I am to work in this industry and one week be partying in California with some dear friends and then..... Anyways blah blah blah PAZ shut the cluck up now Luv to you all and to all a good night!
