It read : Like many health and safety matters this was started with good intentions, in 1962 by the UN, to establish international free trade foods but has become a major threat to our civil liberties and freedom of choice. Yes indeed Laurent, they provide the voices in Twisted, that wouldve been spoken by Lambert and Hendricks in the Annie Ross original. Cheech and Chong also mention Joni's music in one of their later films. - ------Original Message------ From: Laurent Olszer Sender: owner-joni@smoe.org To: Joni JMDL ReplyTo: Laurent Olszer Subject: The Joni Album for when you're feeling naughty... I don't know how the inclusion of C&C came to be; perhaps she talked to them at a party (they were also West Coasters) or maybe the idea evolved in the studio during the recording and they accepted the offer. However it happened, I always thought it was a brilliant idea and I recollect hearing that bit and knowing right off that it was them. I'm sure Bob has probably answered your question, but I haven't made it through my e-mail yet... Jill Thanks for all the replies. I will now feel better watching Up in Smoke after this Joni connection. In 79 i had a summer job waiting in a restaurant. One day a patron was Hendricks (the black member of the trio?) and he was floored that a young parisian waiter knew who he was and also the title of his hit record. More personal trivia: During this job i also met a Berkeley film professor at whose place Mingus had stayed for some time. He liked Joni too so we became friends up to this day. He's 89 so i will call him up now... Laurent ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Aug 2009 15:54:02 -0400 From: "Rob Argento" Subject: RE: The Joni Album for when you're feeling naughty...
