After all the spirit of Woodstock was only very marginal, according to this journalist. And just a couple of years later, Joni did write that peace "was just a dream some of us had". Don't say I didn't warn ya! ; ) Marianne!!! You are giving me bars in my head! (LOL...if you want me I'll be in the lyrics bar!) "Sugar magnolia, blossoms blooming, heads all empty and I don't care, Saw my baby down by the river, knew she'd have to come up soon for air." "Stand by the stairway You'll see something Certain to tell you confusion has its cost Love isn't lying It's loose in a lady who lingers Saying she is lost And choking on hello..." No, she's not choking at all. She wrote: I beleive we ARE getting back to the garden patti, and each of us are a part of it we are away from the 80's and 90's and now we are defining "a new day. . " and each of us take part now speak it show it plant it help it feel it\ live it~ and YOU are ALL a part of my inspiration mean it Marianne ********* "They are one person They are two alone They are three together They are for each other..." Darn right! We walked on the Matela moon. And now, just at this moment of the world... I'm a broadcasting tower, wavin' for ya! Caught this GREAT documentary on VH1 last night. It blew my heart and mind, esp. the JONI parts! Willy talking about her.... heavenly bliss on my TV set. Voila: http://www.vh1.com/shows/vh1_rock_docs/episode.jhtml?episodeID=156466 And for Herr Muller: http://tinyurl.com/ra74e5 Also, Good Morning America was broadcasting live from Yasgur's Farm this morning. Interview clips from Country Joe (from the VH1 special, peut-etre?)...he was wonderful and his words, whatever he said, summed it all up so well. He seemed to capture the spirit. (Or maybe it's cloud illusions, that I recall) Then Richie Havens was there live and reprised "Freedom." I am totally in the zone this weekend with all these specials. I'm walking on orange sunshine (not the brown acid) and don't it feel good, getting back to the gaaaaarden! And Bobbi and Nick got a piece of paper from the city hall, keeping them tied and true for 40 years now! We are stardust. We are golden. To realize that Joni wrote the song the whole world sings about this is just....too much. She "is my soul and my heart's inspiration"! Love and peace and music, Patti P., cyberspacely (new word) sitting in the back seat of Chuck's vehicle (that is now westbound and rolling, going up to the country, baby do you wanna go?) thrilling to the Woodstock-like things that he says on FB Let's laugh and toast to To the innocence in here These are the clouds of Michelangelo Muscular with gods and sungold Shine on your witness in the refuge of the roads Windows Live: Keep your life in sync. Who wrote it? I Want To Hold Your Hand! By the way, that VH1 special (MUST SEE!) I told you about? The title is "Woodstock: Now and Then" Which makes me think of "that very good friend of mine"/ours, Smurf. That was the title of his photo exhibit in the summer of 2007. His own shining hour(s). I'm so glad he had that. He told me he felt all "Sally Field" about it. Stardust. There are interviews with most of the artists, Joni is the first one. http://www.box.net/shared/static/jdbgpo0bfr.mov I hadn't seen this prior to today though I own the book in two forms the hardback with paper sleeve, black and white art on the cover and the limited autographed edition (signed by all the artists and Deborah Chesher. It was interesting to hear Ron Wood talking about losing his entire collection to a fire.
